Senior Pastor

Rev. Daniel Pulver

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who will then help transform the world with God’s grace.  We seek to bring people to a saving, life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ, inviting them to become radical Christ followers whose lives are defined by that divine connection.  When people are overwhelmed by God’s grace, they tend to share it with others, becoming part of what God is doing in this world.  We would love for you to be overwhelmed with us onsite or online.

Associate Pastor

Paul Bussert

Paul grew up as a member of this church, and is thrilled to be back as the Associate Pastor. He will be at the church during normal hours of operation.

Paul obtained his Bachelor of Music Education at Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) and received his Master of Divinity from Southern Methodist University.

Paul enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing games of all types, reading whatever books he can get his hands on, and playing disc golf on the weekends. Paul is married to Anna Bussert who works as a Cardiovascular Sonographer at St. Francis hospital in Muskogee.

Both Paul and Anna feel blessed to be a part of the community of Bixby First United Methodist Church, and to be a part of God’s work in and through this place.

Children's Director

Hannah Birney

Hi! I’m Hannah Birney, and I am the director of children’s ministry at the First United Methodist Church of Bixby! Exciting things are happening at our church, and especially in our children’s department! Our children’s ministry provides children and parents resources to nurture young hearts and minds while growing in relationship with Christ. We focus on God’s word, helping children apply it to their daily lives. We have exceptional teachers who guide our children as they learn about Jesus, grow in faith, and learn to show the love of Christ to others.

I have lived in Bixby for most of my life! I graduated from Bixby High School in 2008 and then attended Oklahoma City University. After graduating from OCU, I served at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Oklahoma City as the director of a Fine Arts Program for children and as the Children’s Ministry Assistant. In 2014, I moved back to Bixby to marry Will Birney! We have been married for seven years, and some of our favorite things to do together are reading and loving on Bear, our sweet and silly Great Dane.

Youth Director

Jentry Hamilton

Hello! I'm Jentry Hamilton and I am the Director of Student Ministries here at Bixby First United Methodist Church. I grew up in this church and it has always felt like a second home. Growing up in our youth group was such an impactful part of my life! I started in 2012 as a volunteer with our youth group helping with small groups, lock ins, camps, and retreats. It has been an amazing journey working in this program.

With our student ministry, we strive to teach our students about the Word. We dig into scripture to see how we can be better disciples for Christ. Our ministry provides the opportunity for students to grow more into their own personal walk. Providing the time and space for the students to understand their own faith and grow as Christians.

I have lived in Bixby all my life. I graduated from Bixby High School in 2001. My husband, Joshua, and I were married in 2010 at this church. We have two wonderful children, Hadley and Colum, who are students at Bixby. We love being able to spend time as a family no matter what that looks like.

Office Manager

Jeana Malone

Hi, I'm Jeana Malone. I grew up in Bixby and have been a part of the FUMC staff for over 14 years.

I have attended church since I was 4 years old.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband Brian and I love being outdoors, working in the yard, and CATCHING fish. Not just fishing- There is a difference! When the fish aren't biting, I enjoy sitting in the boat, on the water, or in a lawncahir lakeside, reading a book.

I consider it a great blessing to be part of the staff at Bixby FUMC. The church body as well as staff have become a very important part of my life!

Communications secretary

Peggy Berlin has been a member of Bixby FUMC for the past seven years and sings in the Chancel Choir.  She spent the first fourteen years of  her working career as a  secondary choral music director before venturing into healthcare. After retiring in October 2019 from the Saint Francis Health System, Peggy has just recently joined the church staff as the Communications Secretary. Peggy’s husband Bruce is a TPS High School Science teacher who is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Counseling. Together for 37 years, they are the parents of two adult sons, three rescue dogs, and a tuxedo cat named TC.

Social Media Coordinator

Hi, I'm Aly Seaman. I have been a part of Bixby FUMC since I was 12 years old. I met my now husband, Ryan when we were in youth group together here at FUMC. We have two beautiful kids, Eleanor and Wren, two crazy dogs named Junior and Nemo, and enjoy hiking, cooking, and gardening.

I have been on our worship team for several years, and a volunteer in our youth group as well. Serving our church is one of the biggest blessings in my life!

My newest adventure has been as a part of our staff, as the social media coordinator. I love being able to help reach people and do ministry through different social media outlets.
