Opportunities
WORSHIP - We have two
worship services in the Sanctuary each Sunday. The first
begins at 8:30 a.m. and is a praise style service
distinguished by choruses and praise music.
The second
service begins at 11:00 a.m. It is a warm, traditional
service, which includes hymns, litanies, anthems and
historic creeds. The same sermon is offered at both
services.

VISITOR RECEPTION WITH THE PASTOR and DOORWAY CLASS -
Our Pastors invite you to attend a Visitor Reception
immediately after each worship service every Sunday. It
will be held in room 110 down the south hall (to the
left when exiting the Sanctuary).
This is a relaxed time
of questions, answers and informal sharing. Following
the early service reception, a 30-minute "Doorway Class"
is offered in the same room. (If you attend the 11:00
a.m. service, join us for the Doorway Class at 9:45
a.m.)
This is an opportunity to hear a bit about the
vision and ministries of our church. It is also a time
to get to know our Pastors and a few of our leaders and
members. The content of the Doorway Class is on a
four-week rotation and can be joined on any Sunday.
Your children and youth can stay with you in both the
reception and Doorway Class or they can attend Sunday
School during that time period.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DURING WORSHIP - Our nursery and
pre-school ministry is called “Shepherd's Fold”. The
nursery is provided during Sunday School and both
services.
The check-in desk is located outside room 101
in the north hallway lower level (to the right when
entering the portico or exiting the Sanctuary).
Also,
during each service, children age three through first
grade will be invited to join the Pastor on the altar
steps for a "Children's Time". (We have noticed that
some visiting children come comfortably without their
parents, while other children appreciate having a parent
or sibling come down with them. Either is fine with us!)
After the Children's Time, our children's ministers will
lead the children to Children's Church. If this is your
first or second time visiting with us, one parent is
asked to slip out as the children exit and register your
child.
Children who attend Children's Church and do not
stay for Sunday School may be picked up after worship
through the check-in desk.
For children who remain in
Sunday School after the 8:30 a.m. service, preschoolers
will stay in “Shepherd’s Fold”. Kindergarteners and
First graders will be escorted to the Sanctuary for
“King’s Dominion”. Pick up information will be given at
registration.

PRAYER REQUESTS - In the pew pockets and at the Welcome
Center, you will find cards on which to write prayer
requests and provide pastoral care information. If you
wish for these concerns (and joys) to be mentioned in
the pastoral prayer during the service, place them in
the prayer bowl on the altar in the Sanctuary before (or
during) the first song in each worship service.
Other
concerns can be placed in the prayer box at the Welcome
Center. The prayer teams and our ministry leadership
will pray for all the concerns during the week.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL - Adult Sunday School Classes begin
at 9:45 a.m. The classes are located both downstairs and
upstairs. An elevator can be found down the north
hallway (to the right when exiting the Sanctuary). We
invite you to visit several of our classes as you get to
know us. Maps are available at the Welcome Center. Our
classes include:

widowers. Follows Topical and Biblical studies.

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL – Preschool children will
attend Sunday School in “Shepherd’s Fold” downstairs in
the north hallway. All children kindergarten through
sixth grade gather in the Sanctuary at 9:45 a.m. to
begin the children's Sunday School experience.
You will
find a Sunday School registration table in the lobby of
the Sanctuary. Your child will be registered and invited
to be seated with his or her age group for a joy-filled
opening. You will be informed of where to pick up your
child at 10:45 a.m.

Our children enjoy something we call "rotational Sunday
School". The same Bible Story is taught five Sundays in
a row through different media in different rooms. After
the grand opening, children will go by age groups to
their assigned room.
Every age group will have adult
"Shepherds" who stay with the group during the five-week
rotation. At registration, you will be given the room
number for picking up your child after Sunday School.

When your child enters King's Dominion (what we call our
Children's Ministry) he or she will experience one of
the following:
The Pasture Room - A drama room, with stage and
"hillside seating", where children experience the Bible
Story through theater.
The Anchor Room - Children learn the Bible Story through
games and exercises, which aid memory and application.
The Harvest Room - An arts, crafts and food room which
allows for creating or tasting something from the
Biblical Story.
The Morning Star Room - Computer stations help kids
learn the high-tech way!
The Vineyard Room - A news studio called TVN (True Vine
Network) is designed for children to "anchor the news".
They "broadcast" the Biblical Story, then watch
themselves on TV!
The Great Commission Room - A wall-sized map of the
world helps children discover the meaning of sharing the
love of Jesus in mission.
