Prayers - we support the church through our daily commitment to prayer.

Members of First UMC in Bixby commit themselves to faithfully participate in the ministries of the church through their prayers, their presence, their gifts, their service and their witness.  Below is a listing of our prayer ministry opportunities.  For information about how to get involved in any of these ministries, call the church office or send an email to Pastor Chris at ruddell@olp.net.

Prayer Shawl Ministry - Prayer Shawl Ministry is a world wide ministry of many different denominations.  We have members who knit/crochet at home and those who meet with us at church.  Our members age from those with youngsters in elementary school to Great Grandma's.

Stephen Ministry - Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who receive over 50 hours of specialized training to provide one-to-one, confidential Christian care to people in our congregation and community who are experiencing any of life's difficulties - from illness and grief to family troubles and job loss-the difficulties we all face at times.

Grief Recovery - Death is a normal part of life - it can be agonizing or peaceful.  The grief process is one that is full of emotions.  Let us help.  Our Grief Recovery process is managed under our Stephen Ministry team and it's ministers are there to help you through this difficult journey.

Intercessory Prayer Team - As life moves on, people find themselves facing obstacles and bumps in their paths.  Whether it be an upcoming surgery, an ongoing illness, economic worries, or struggles with their faith, all people need prayer at different points in their lives.  The Intercessory Prayer Team takes the concerns of the church and lifts them up to God.

Personal Commitment to Prayer - Many of our members make a commitment to regularly pray for the people of the church, its ministries, and all those who are in need of God's unending grace.
